AAM Announces RAM 11.5 Gear Set Update

American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM) announced catalog updates to the RAM Truck 11.5" ring and pinion gear sets for 2014 and newer RAM 2500 and 3500 trucks.
The 2014 - 2016 RAM 2500 truck uses a new coil spring suspensions system.
The 11.5" ring & pinion gear sets for that rear axle are:
- D115342GSK-1 - 3.42 ratio
- D115373GSK-1 - 3.73 ratio
- D115410GSK-1 - 4.10 ratio
The 'GSK" part number gear set kit does include the pinion nut, collapsible spacer and pinion seal as they are unique to the gear set and axle.
The 11.5" gear sets for the 2500 are not interchangeable with the 11.5" gears for the 3500. The pinion gear, pinion bearing and tail bearing diameters are different.
The 2003 - 2016 RAM 3500 still uses a leaf spring suspension system. The 11.5" ring & pinion gear sets for that rear axle are:
- 40101174 - 3.42 ratio
- 40101173 - 3.73 ratio
- 40094550 - 4.10 ratio
- 40116812 - 4.44 ratio
There are no installation components included in the gear sets for the 3500 RAM truck. The last model year for the 10.5" rear axle in a RAM 2500 truck was in 2013.
